Living in Phoenix, AZ

Living in Phoenix
OUR HOME:  1936 W. Big Oak street, Phoenix AZ 85085

Well, we have been here in Phoenix, Arizona since March--- so that's about 4 months.  Brian came here in March to begin his position as Director of Production and Program Management at the Learning Journey, and Olivia and I came to follow. We rented in Scottsdale while we looked for homes and neighborhoods. We found Fireside at Norterra in Northern Phoenix, Deer Valley- to be our dream community.  We moved into our home on May 31st, and have been finding our life and place in Phoenix to be a blessing!  It is different here; the beauty is different, the people are different, the living style is different... but life is the same. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, activities, work, Church, rest, friends... what I do miss most is the community in LA. (to you all- hugs! and come visit us, and we will visit you too) in the mean time, technology allows us to visit virtually. So here are some of the highlights of our home town in sunny Phoenix.

this photo is at our community center which is walking distance from our home. there is also an adult pool, hot tub, gym, park, playgrounds, tennis and b ball courts, and hike trails. amazing!we visit just about everyday, and there are many planned activities for everyone.

this is Anthem. a near by community. here Tita Ching and Olivia stroll the huge beautiful park.  community centers are pretty standard here and you only need an average salary to live in this type of area.

we had Livi attend school when we first moved to help me keep my sanity while I set up the home. she was not too fond of it.

now I do all her school activities at home.  she is learning so much that it amazes me!! she has about 20 words, runs and climbs, loves swimming, dances, points and talks, feeds herself and her baby doll, and is always amazing me with her personality and perseverance.

this is our Church, CCV. it is amazing! Christ Church of the Valley in Peoria.  so far, we love the children's activities, teachings, music, friendly campus, and cafes on site.

also at CCV Children's area. Daddy is in charge of Livi's Church drop off and pick up.
live music, coffee, and cakes at the Java Coffee house in Cave Creek. such a funky art town that holds the wild west charm.
Grandma Lauren and Pappy Tom visit us and we take a drive to Lake Pleasant. There are Lakes in AZ!
Bri and I steal a moment without baby at Lake Pleasant...

this is incredible! live music, eats, shops, out door fire places, and a splash pad that lights up! this is how we celebrated Bri's birthday after an amazing steak dinner. wow.

so there you have it.
I can say that I am officially falling in love with Phoenix.  it's just amazing to think that only 1 year ago Brian lost his job and we began a long journey that lead us here. I never would have choose Arizona, but God choose it for us- for our family, and it proves that He above all knows what is best for us! I trust that :)

Brian and I both are still processing all that we have gone through in the last year. It has been hard, yet amazing.  Here, it seems like Honduras was all just a dream. I look at the photos and remember the people and places and continue to pray for Honduras.

What does it take to bring us to our knees in thanks? There are days that I forget, and complain about little things.  I must remember how blessed we truly are!
Now that our home is set up, moved in, and decorated (pics to come!)  my focus is building community, and relationships.  I know we have many memories ahead and hope to continue to share them with all of you :)
more to come on the heart felt side...
love Vic
